WhatsApp Commerce for Indian D2C and Retail Brands

WhatsApp Commerce on ChatYug lets Indian businesses sell through Meta's native catalog cart inside WhatsApp: link your product catalog, send product lists, receive multi-item cart orders, collect delivery details via checkout WhatsApp Flows, and manage fulfilment from a commerce orders portal. Catalog sync, cart enablement, checkout flows, and integrator APIs are included from ₹1,500 per month on the official WhatsApp Business API.

How WhatsApp Commerce works on ChatYug

The end-to-end journey runs on Meta's catalog and cart UI plus ChatYug's order and flow backend. You configure commerce once in the portal, then customers shop entirely inside WhatsApp while your team tracks orders and status updates from ChatYug.

  1. Link catalog and enable cart — Connect your Meta product catalog in Commerce Settings, turn on catalog visibility and native cart for your WhatsApp number.
  2. Send a product list — Share products from the portal or External API so customers open the catalog in WhatsApp.
  3. Customer adds to cart — Shoppers set quantities and place the order using Meta's native cart (no custom cart app required).
  4. Order received — ChatYug ingests the order webhook, saves all line items with product names from your catalog, and assigns a flow token.
  5. Checkout Flow — ChatYug auto-sends a WhatsApp Flow for address, city, pincode, and payment mode, or you trigger it via API.
  6. Fulfil from Commerce Orders — Confirm, ship, and deliver; customers get WhatsApp status notifications.

Portal facilities for WhatsApp Commerce

ChatYug groups commerce tools in dedicated portal modules so catalog, checkout, and fulfilment teams work from one WhatsApp Business API account without separate ecommerce software for the messaging layer.

Product Catalog

Create and link Meta catalogs, sync products, assign categories, and maintain retailer IDs (SKUs) used in cart orders. Products push to Meta via items_batch and pull back on sync.

Commerce Settings

Link the Meta catalog ID, enable catalog visibility and native cart on your phone number, configure checkout Flow ID, toggle auto-send checkout flow after cart orders, and manage RSA keys for encrypted flow endpoints.

Commerce Flows

Create, publish, and manage WhatsApp Flow JSON for checkout screens — customer name, mobile, address, city, pincode, and payment method such as cash on delivery.

Commerce Orders

Dashboard for all cart and flow orders: view line items, shipping address, payment mode, update status (pending, confirmed, shipped, delivered, cancelled), and notify customers on WhatsApp.

Quick Send

Send single-product messages, multi-section product lists, and checkout flow messages to individual customers from the WhatsApp Commerce hub.

Key commerce capabilities

ChatYug covers the native Meta commerce model — catalog, cart, checkout flow, and order API — rather than a separate pincode or distributor cart built outside WhatsApp.

  • Native WhatsApp cart — Multi-item orders from Meta's catalog cart with quantities and totals
  • Product name enrichment — Line items display catalog product names, not SKU-only labels
  • Auto checkout flow — Optional automatic Flow message after every cart submit
  • Category browse API — Integrators can run SHOP-style category pickers then send filtered product lists
  • External API and webhooks — Catalog CRUD, product list send, order query, status updates, and inbound order/flow events
  • Carousel commerce entry — Carousel template Buy taps can also create orders (see carousel templates)

For integrators and custom backends

Developers use ChatYug's External API and outbound webhooks to mirror cart orders in a CRM or ERP, send checkout flows manually when auto-send is off, and update fulfilment status programmatically without building Meta catalog plumbing from scratch.

Typical integrator flow: receive order webhook → fetch order via GET /orders → optional POST /messages/flow → handle nfm_reply on flow submit → PUT /orders/:id/status when shipped. Category browse bots use GET /catalogs/:id/categories and POST /messages/product-list.

WhatsApp Commerce is included on ChatYug plans from ₹1,500 per month inclusive of GST. Meta conversation charges apply per Meta's published rates.

WhatsApp Commerce FAQ

What is WhatsApp native cart on ChatYug?

WhatsApp native cart is Meta's built-in catalog cart inside the WhatsApp app. After you link a product catalog and enable cart in ChatYug Commerce Settings, customers browse products from a product list message, add items with quantities, and place an order without leaving WhatsApp. ChatYug receives the order webhook, saves all line items, and can auto-send a checkout WhatsApp Flow.

How does checkout work after a cart order?

When a customer submits the native cart, ChatYug creates a pending order and optionally sends a checkout WhatsApp Flow that collects name, mobile, delivery address, city, pincode, and payment mode such as cash on delivery. Flow submissions update the order to confirmed and trigger a customer summary message with all cart items and shipping details.

Does ChatYug show all cart items with product names?

Yes. ChatYug lists every cart line in the checkout flow message body and confirmation text with product name, SKU, quantity, and line subtotal. Product names are resolved from your ChatYug Product Catalog when Meta's order webhook sends SKU only. Multi-item carts are fully supported.

Can integrators connect via API?

Yes. ChatYug provides an External API for catalogs, product lists, orders, and checkout flows, plus outbound webhooks for cart order events, customer messages, and flow submissions. Integrators can sync orders into their own CRM or ERP and update status via the orders API.

How do I manage orders in the portal?

The Commerce Orders dashboard shows pending, confirmed, shipped, delivered, and cancelled orders with line-item detail. Staff update status from the portal and can notify customers on WhatsApp automatically.

Is WhatsApp Commerce included in ChatYug pricing?

Yes. Catalog linking, native cart, checkout flows, order management, and commerce APIs are included in ChatYug standard plans starting at INR 1,500 per month or INR 15,000 per year inclusive of GST.
